Fablekeep

Hosting Terms

Last updated:

Fablekeep Cloud is your own Fablekeep server, run by us. You pay monthly or yearly through Creem and can cancel any time; it runs until the end of the period you paid for. We back it up every day and do our best to keep it online. If a subscription ends, your data waits 30 days, and we email you before we delete it.

1. What these terms cover

These terms apply to Fablekeep Cloud: Fablekeep servers that we host for you at an address of your choice on fablekeepvtt.com (for example yourtable.fablekeepvtt.com), which you order and manage from your account at account.fablekeepvtt.com. Fablekeep Cloud is one of our Hosted Services, so the Terms of Use apply to it as well; these terms add to them. The Fablekeep software running on your server is covered by the EULA.

2. What is included

  • A Fablekeep server of your own, with the memory and storage of the plan you choose, in the region you choose.
  • Your players join from any browser with the server’s address; as the DM, you sign in with your Fablekeep account.
  • We install Fablekeep updates for you.
  • The server sleeps when nobody is using it and wakes up on the next visit; the first page may take a moment while it does.
  • Daily snapshots (see section 5).

With your licence. These plans use one of the 3 activations of a Fablekeep licence you own. If that licence is refunded or revoked, you have 14 days to switch the server to a “licence included” plan or attach another licence; after that the server is suspended (section 7).

Licence included. These plans need no licence of your own. The licence that comes with them works only on that server and ends with the subscription.

3. Your content

Your worlds, maps, assets and everything else on your server stay yours. You give us only the limited licence described in the Terms of Use, section 5.6, to store and serve them for you and the people you invite. You are responsible for what you put on the server, and you must have the right to use it (section 5 of the Terms).

The Acceptable Use Policy applies to everything on your server and to everyone you invite. In particular, a Cloud server must not be used to share other people’s paid assets with people who have no licence for them. We do not look through your server; we act on valid notices and clear violations as the Terms of Use describe.

4. Availability

We do our best to keep your server online and fast, but we cannot promise it will never be down: we offer no guaranteed uptime. Servers may be briefly unavailable for maintenance and updates, which we try to do outside the hours most tables play, or because of problems at our hosting provider. Where an outage on our side is long, tell us and we will make it fair.

5. Backups and export

We take a snapshot of every server once a day and keep each snapshot for 14 days. If something goes wrong on our side, we restore the latest good snapshot; you can also ask us to restore one for you. You can export your worlds from Fablekeep at any time, and we recommend keeping your own copies of the campaigns you care about.

6. Prices, billing and plan changes

Plans are billed monthly or yearly, in advance, and renew automatically until you cancel. A yearly plan costs ten times the monthly price. Prices are shown on our website and in your account before you pay.

Payments go through Creem, which is the merchant of record: it charges you, handles sales tax and VAT, and sends receipts under its own buyer terms. You can update your payment method and see your invoices from your account.

You can change your plan, licence option or billing period at any time. The change takes effect straight away and is prorated: you pay, or are credited, the difference for the rest of the current period. If we ever change our prices, we will tell you at least 30 days before the change applies to your next renewal.

7. Unpaid subscriptions and suspension

If a payment fails, Creem tries again over the following days and we email you; your server keeps running meanwhile. If the payment still does not go through and the subscription ends, the server is suspended: your players cannot reach it, but its data is kept, and it is deleted only as described in section 9. Paying again within that time brings back the same server.

We may also suspend a server for a material breach of the Terms of Use or the Acceptable Use Policy, as set out there.

8. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the renewal; your server keeps running until the end of the period you already paid for, and then it is suspended. Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy. If you change your mind, you can resume the subscription before the period ends, or reactivate it within 30 days to get the same server back.

9. Deletion of your data

When a subscription ends — because you cancelled, it went unpaid or it was refunded — we keep the server’s data for 30 days. We email you a warning about 7 days before it is deleted. After that, the server and its data are deleted for good, and the remaining snapshots expire within 14 days; they cannot be recovered. Export anything you want to keep before then. You can also delete a server yourself from your account at any time.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when Fablekeep Cloud or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
