The complete codex
Every feature
One tome for the whole campaign: what you show at the table, the world you build, the fights you run and the people you play with. The basics every tabletop has are here too — at the very end, where they belong.
Part I
Run the night
The TV is your stage and you are its director. Everything the players see is staged, cued and revealed by you — and nothing they should not see ever reaches the screen.

Recorded in Fablekeep Preview → TAKE
A broadcast desk for your table: build the next shot in Preview while the TV shows Program, then TAKE it with a cut, crossfade, dissolve, ink wipe or page turn. Instant mode when you just want to push.

Recorded in Fablekeep Split screen, up to four panes
The taproom and the cellar, the two halves of a split party, the map and the initiative order — side by side, stacked or in quarters, each pane with its own camera and banner.

Recorded in Fablekeep Zero spoilers, by design
The TV never receives hidden things: secret doors, hidden tokens, DM notes and unrevealed rooms are left out before anything is sent, not merely hidden on screen.

Recorded in Fablekeep Saved layouts & TV camera
Save a whole TV setup and recall it from the session plan. Zoom, pan and rotate the TV from a minimap, keep saved views per map, and turn the picture toward any side of a table-top screen.

Recorded in Fablekeep Smoke, ink & parchment fog
Fog of war that rolls back like smoke with a candle-gold rim, bleeds away like ink or flakes off like old parchment as you reveal — by brush, room or grid cell.

Recorded in Fablekeep Weather & light on the TV
Rain, storms with lightning, snow, blizzards, mist, ash, leaves and magic motes; dawn, dusk and night grades and a flickering torchlight — following the campaign clock and weather, or set by hand.

Recorded in Fablekeep Living handouts
Letters whose seal cracks before they unfold and write themselves, scrolls that unroll, wanted posters that slam onto the board, item cards that flip, book pages that turn — each on procedural paper of its own.

Recorded in Fablekeep NPC dialogue & showcase cards
A portrait with a framed nameplate and a line of dialogue, mood portraits that crossfade, two NPCs facing each other — and a dramatic showcase for heroes and villains.

Recorded in Fablekeep Cinematic title cards
Chapter and arrival cards, “Previously on…” on a scroll, “Three days later…”, a “Roll for initiative!” banner and “To be continued…” to close the night.

Recorded in Fablekeep Session copilot
Your plan as a step sheet: scene setup, read-aloud, clues and secrets, NPC guidance with reveal checklists, decisions with consequences and hand-offs. The maps, handouts, encounters and sounds linked while planning are one tap each.

Recorded in Fablekeep Soundpad & mixer
Included ambience and effects, pads with hotkeys, sound scenes, a music deck with crossfades and four ambient layers — switching by itself when the party enters a place or a fight starts, if you want it to.

Recorded in Fablekeep Sound with a place on the map
Put the crackle on the hearth and the surf on the shore: emitters with radius and falloff, muffled by walls, mixed for every screen from its own point of view.

Recorded in Fablekeep Rehearsals & safety tools
Try a session in a sandbox copy of the campaign and throw it away after. Lines & veils and an X-card on the TV keep the table comfortable.
Part II
Build the world
From a continent drawn hex by hex to the cellar under the tavern, every place is a real place: on the map, in the wiki, linked to the people and secrets that live there.

Recorded in Fablekeep Hex atlas
Numbered flat-top hexes over your world map, painted biomes, regions with their own detail maps, places and the roads between them — with fog of war the party lifts as it travels.

Recorded in Fablekeep Map Forge
Sketch land, mountains and rivers and the forge erodes, waters and paints a world map — in a painted or a hand-drawn cartography style — already aligned to the hex grid.

Recorded in Fablekeep Battlemap Forge
Paint ground, raise cliffs, lay rivers and roads, build rooms with walls, doors and windows, add roofs, several levels and lights — and publish a battle map that already knows its walls.

Recorded in Fablekeep A wiki that links itself
NPCs, factions, items, lore and gods written with @mentions that become links both ways, DM-only secret blocks and boxed read-aloud text — every place on the map opens its entry.

Recorded in Fablekeep NPCs with a life
Portraits with mood variants, relationships, what they want and what they must never say, a name generator that works offline — ready for the TV the moment they speak.

Recorded in Fablekeep SRD 5.2 compendium
Monsters, spells, items, magic items, classes and conditions of the 5e 2024 rules, searchable and ready to drop on a map — plus your own homebrew alongside.

Recorded in Fablekeep Travel cinematics
Plan a route with stops, then play the journey on the TV: the party moves along the road while the calendar turns, the weather changes and the fog lifts from the hexes they cross.

Recorded in Fablekeep Calendar, clock & history
Your own calendar and moons, a campaign clock that drives light and weather, scheduled events, and a timeline of everything that has happened in the world.

Recorded in Fablekeep Quests, shops & random tables
A quest board with clues, faction standing, party treasury and inventory, shops with stock at their location, and random tables you roll from anywhere.

Bring what you already have
Universal VTT files (.dd2vtt, .uvtt, .df2vtt) arrive as battle maps with their walls, doors, windows and lights in place. Dungeondraft packs, Wonderdraft symbol folders and .zip art packs become stamps, textures and world-map symbols; any PNG, JPG or WebP becomes a map. Compendium JSON brings monsters, spells, items, classes and feats; a form-fillable PDF brings a character.
Works with files from Dungeondraft, Wonderdraft and other Universal VTT map makers · private to your worlds
Part III
Combat, assisted
Fablekeep keeps the bookkeeping of the 2024 rules, so the fight stays fast and every spell lands with weight.

Recorded in Fablekeep Encounter builder & runner
Build with the 2024 budget and a difficulty bar, place the whole group on the map, run initiative with grouping and reminders, and log the fight into the session.

Recorded in Fablekeep Action bar with 339 spell icons
Every attack, spell and feature of the creature in play, one click away — each spell recognisable at a glance.

Recorded in Fablekeep Spell effects that land
Bolts that fly, areas that bloom, healing that rises, buffs that glow — on the DM screen, the TV and every player’s device.

Recorded in Fablekeep Apply assistant
Attack rolls, saves, damage, resistances and conditions worked out and waiting for your nod — with a narration line written for the spell, in English or Spanish.

Recorded in Fablekeep Effects, conditions & concentration
Durations that tick down on their own, concentration checks when damage lands, death saves, legendary and lair actions in the runner.

Recorded in Fablekeep Summons & Wild Shape
Familiars, summoned allies and Wild Shape forms arrive with their statblock, placed and ready to act on their turn.
Your art, your packs
The art you bought or commissioned is first-class: import asset packs as a folder, a .zip or a Dungeondraft pack and stamp them onto battle maps, upload tokens and portraits for your heroes and monsters. Imported packs stay private and are left out of shared exports.
Part IV
Players & hosting
Around the TV, online or both at once — every player with their character on their own phone, and the same campaign served from your own machine or your own server.

Recorded in Fablekeep A phone companion for every player
On a phone, the player client becomes a companion laid out for a thumb: a sticky header with HP and AC, and tabs for the character, combat, spells, gear, the diary, the world and the log. At the table it is their sheet while the TV shows the map; a player joining from afar also gets a Map tab. They join with a link, a QR code or a short code and a PIN: no install, no account.

Recorded in Fablekeep Show me what to roll
Every check, save, skill, attack and spell shows its exact dice. Roll real dice and type the d20, and the app adds the rest; or roll 3D dice on the phone. The result goes to the DM’s log, and the choice is remembered per seat. Spells show their slots, and a higher slot shows the upcast dice.

Recorded in Fablekeep Roll requests on the phone
Ask a player for a check or a save and it pops up on their phone with a chime (and a buzz where the phone allows), their bonus already included and the DC if you choose to show it. They type the die or roll it digitally; you see the answer arrive.

Recorded in Fablekeep A map of their own, from afar
Remote players, and the far seat of a hybrid game, get the battle map on the phone: their own character’s vision, pinch to zoom, pings, a ruler, and token moves along a path, either free or sent to you for approval.

Recorded in Fablekeep Diary, notes and recaps
A handwritten diary book dated by your world’s calendar, private notes and the recaps of past sessions, all on the phone. Diary pages are for the player and the DM alone, unless the player shares them with the party.

Recorded in Fablekeep The full player client, in any browser
On a laptop or a landscape tablet, players get the full client: their sheet, inventory, diary and their own field of vision side by side. Phones get the companion on their own; a player can switch layouts from the menu.

Recorded in Fablekeep Table, online or hybrid
A night around the TV, a game across three cities, or a living-room table with a friend joining from afar in the same scene.

Recorded in Fablekeep Character creator & level-up
Players build their heroes with the 2024 rules and level them up step by step; existing characters come in from a form-fillable PDF sheet, or as JSON from another Fablekeep world.

Recorded in Fablekeep Per-player content
Handouts, whispers, visions and reveals for one player or a few; a split party sees only its own side of the story.

Recorded in Fablekeep Your network or your server
Share the game on your local network with a pairing code for the TV, or deploy the same server to a VPS with HTTPS for online play.

Recorded in Fablekeep An optional AI assistant
Off by default. Connect your own Claude account and it helps you build and run the campaign from your own material: it drafts sessions, NPCs, places and secrets from your world, and lays out battle maps and world maps with the assets you own. It never makes art. Every change is a draft you review, keep or revert.
Off by default · your own account · never makes art · every change is a labelled draft · no explicit content · hide it completely in Settings

Recorded in Fablekeep Local, owned, bilingual
Your worlds live in files on your computer, with backups after every session. The whole app speaks English and Spanish.
